Rose English emerged from the Conceptual art, dance and feminist scenes of1970s Britain to become one of the most internationally influential performanceartists working today. This comprehensive exhibition catalog documents her40-year career to date, including legendary site-specific performances andlarge-scale spectaculars. Her uniquely interdisciplinary work combines elementsof theater, circus, opera and poetry to explore themes of gender politics, theidentity of the performer and the metaphysics of presence.
