Further Reading Print No.1: Identity
The rapid growth of technology constantly changes the way we access and digest information. It encapsulates our behaviour, language, and knowledge as we are shifting from being within small groups into one global community. However, increased connectivity does not equate better connection between individuals, and perhaps counteractively creates a sense of detachment.
In the first issue of Further Reading print, we look inwards to respond to the challenges and demands that we are facing as both designer and non-designer; examine our values within sociocultural, political, economic and ecological contexts; and address or respond using our knowledge, skills and resources. In this issue, we delve into the theme of ‘Identity’ and see how the single subject could give rise to different interpretations.
