Originally published in the context of his 2003 exhibition, To be Political it has to Look Nice, De La Barra’s collected works are presented in Spanish and English, accompanied by illustrations by Jaime Nuñez del Arco. In the book, De La Barra dissects Latin American politics, class struggles, popular culture, identity and mythic moments and beliefs both historical and contemporary in search of a path to survive the “global cultural economy” as artists and workers.
