This book is based on the exhibition Noguchi’s Playscapes, held at the Museo Tamayo Arte Contemporáneo in Mexico City in 2016. It reveals a little-known facet of the work of the Japanese-American artist Isamu Noguchi: his designs of children’s playgrounds, spaces for fun aimed at intensifying the happiness of both children and adults. The book includes essays by specialists in art, architecture, and park design, which invite us to reflect on the impor-tance of play in public spaces, through an examination of the playgrounds designed by Noguchi between 1933 and 1988.
